Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure using thin needles. The procedure can help reduce the appearance of skin concerns such as acne scars, stretch marks or wrinkles.

I use thin needles to make tiny holes in the top layer of your skin. The damage helps stimulate your skin’s healing process, so it produces more collagen and elastin. These proteins keep your skin firm and smooth.

Most people get microneedling on their face, but you can also get it on your legs, back, neck or other areas where you notice damaged or aging skin. You’ll probably need multiple treatments to achieve your desired results.

Usually there are about 4 treatments needed to achieve beautiful results. This can be done at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks. The stimulation of collagen can then continue for several months after the treatment. That makes skin renewal with microneedling a comprehensive process that you can enjoy for a long time. We do recommend that you always continue to maintain the results annually. Compare it to going to the gym; if you want to stay strong and fit, you also need to make sure you work out structurally.

Microneedling has cosmetic and medical uses. You might consider microneedling if you’re concerned about:

  • Enlarged pores.
  • Fine lines or wrinkles
  • Loose or crepey (thin and wrinkled) skin.
  • Mild scars, especially those from acne or burns
  • Skin discoloration or uneven skin tone.
  • Stretch narks

Who shouldn’t have microneedling?

  •  Acne or are taking medication for acne.
  •  Blood disorders or are on anticoagulants (drugs that prevent blood clots).
  •  Cancer and are receiving chemothetapy
  • Frequent skin rashes
  • Keloidal tendency (your skin forms hard, raised scars).
  • Freckles, sskin tags or other growths that change in size or shape or bleed.
  • Skin conditions such as eczema or prioriasis
  • other authoimmunology diseases

What is microneedling good for?

As well as general rejuvenation, microneedling is an effective treatment a range of different skin concerns, such as:

  • Decreased skin elasticity
  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sundamage
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Acne scars

Microneedling might sound like it should be very painful but it reality most people only experience slight discomfort. The needles used in the procedure are very small and the wounds are extremely shallow, meaning you’ll feel very little and the wounds heal quickly. It is this healing effect that gives your skin the vital collagen boost that causes the rejuvenated skin and reduced imperfections.
